We’ve crunched the numbers and determined the four topics for the rest of this C3 year. They are:

• Creative Spaces
• Youth Empowerment
• Income Inequality & Economic Opportunity
• Geography and Diversity

These topics were chosen by a small group of C3ers (thank you!) based on the full group’s indicated interests. We also did some clumping and rewording to reflect the perceived relationships among issues.

We will definitely cover Creative Spaces at the next meeting on November 11 from 6-8pm. We haven’t determined the order of the other three meetings but will do so within the next couple of weeks.

Please help us out by filling out this form to share your specific knowledge and activities related to these four topics. It’s OK if you are not actively working on any of these, but if you are, we want to know about it!

Nina here. I’m sitting here in my office, looking at the awesome, messy, complex map we built on Saturday of the local issues and communities that are most compelling to us. I’m excited to see the cleaned up version (which will eventually live in the “Resources” section of this site), but I’m even more excited by the energy, passion, and generosity with which this flurry of stickers and lines was created. Can’t wait for the next step together. Thank you for helping us make this real.

September 20, 8:30am – 1pm

This meeting is the kickoff for C3. This is a required meeting for all C3 participants. The focus is COMMUNITY MAPPING. At this meeting, we will:

• get to know each other
• build maps of our own personal assets and connections
• collaborate on a big map of Santa Cruz County key issues and related communities

The community map we create at this meeting will be the basis for the selection of issues to focus on in the following four meetings of C3.
